Video event with animated tracking.

Using Vegas 5, is there a way to create a video effect where I can set the tracking to "zero" for a group of words and then have the group of words expand out from the center to full tracking. In other words, all the letters would be stacked upon each other (zero tracking), then they would move out to correct position (full tracking). I understand that the tracking can be adjusted, but I'm not able to get a slow or controlled flow of the letters/words.

I hope I was able to explain this in an understandable way.

This can be done very easily and smoothly with keyframes. In the text generator window you will see a timeline near the bottom labeled "Text" and 6 bluish diamond shaped buttons underneath. Click the first button to set a keyframe at the beginning of the text event and set the tracking to 0. Click the 4th blue button to set a new keyframe at the end of the text event and set the tracking to whatever you want for the ending value. The tracking will now increase smoothly as the clip plays.
