The info from vf 2.0 states that I can make a video on cd and it will play in most dvd players.Well I`ve tried it and it will neither play in my dvd or my dvd on my computer. Now the cd-rom function works find on playback on my computer.Do I need any more software to make this work.
To make a disc playable on ***some*** DVD players, you must make a VCD.
Steps:
1)When it is time to "Make Movie", select the "Write Movie to VCD or CD-ROM" button.
2) In the next screen, select "Create a Video CD."
3) Render your movie in MPEG-1 using the NTSC VCD Template. Do NOT use an existing file UNLESS you rendered it earlier in MPEG-1 using the NTSC VCD template.
4) Burn your VCD.
Follow these steps to create a VCD. Deviate from these steps and you will not create a VCD, instead just a movie on a CD-ROM.
Also, be aware that not all DVD players can read VCDs, especially VCDs written on CD-R's. Many older DVD players can't even read audio CD-R's - you may have better luck using CD-RW's on DVD players.
Plus, there are a few DVD players that can't even read VCD's, not matter what is used (CD-R or CD-RW).
If you follow the Video CD wizard steps exactly and burn to CDRW media, VideoCds made in VF2.0 should work with most DVD players. Most Sony DVD players only work with CDRW media unfortunately.
