The demo software is locking my system up randomly---
I have been able to
1. Capture video from my DV camera.
2. Capture a song from a CD.
However, it seems that whenever I go to preview or play a clip (even the
demo clip from this website), the system locks and forces me to do a hard
reset.
me too, except I'm on the purchased copy. it was working, but now it's not.
I have no clue....
I'm on a P4/1.6G, 60GB ATA/100, 512MB Ram Nvideo MX 440 something. Performance should not be a problem. disabling antivirus does not help.
must be something I installed but I have no idea what.
I use an ATI TV Wonder PCI. What is interesting is that if I upgrade to DirectX 8.1, the card suffers from huge frame drops. My problem on the
ATI end is probably ATI which is known for its great drivers.
Basically what happens is, I take an MPEG-1 file created with the ATI
card and import it. That goes okay. When I drag it into the timeline
it proceeds to build peaks. Then, hitting any other control causes
strangeness.
When I go to preview, I get audio and I am treating to watching the first frame- forever- until I hit the reset button. The three-finger-solute is useless, so I am ready to wire the reset button into my keyboard....
If I move the time pointer to the middle of the clip, it takes forever.
If anyone else has this problem, please suggest a solution!
Some other folks from the Vegas forum have also reported stability problems with the nVidia MX400 series. Try the latest video drivers from nVidia's web site. If that doesn't work, try turning off hardware acceleration under the "troubleshooting" tab of your video properties advanced settings.
I a having a similar problem with an ATI RADEON 7500 card.
I have a similar posting "Newbie - VF2 Capture Problem".
I don't know if this is a hardware issue or application. I will try with another application - WinXP Movie Maker (?) to see if this application has similar provlems.
