You probably need them if you ever want to "repair" your installation. Other than that, I would think it is OK to delete them.

Of course, I've never bothered to delete that folder so I'm not certain.

I think there is a automatic repair program in this.It has come in handy for me.

Yes, if you run Setup.exe it gives you the option to repair or install.

Why not burn the directory to a CD before deleting it?

Would not just deleteing it screw up the registry. Was wishing someone from VF would have read this and responded.

You could also run the downloaded installation file again if you need to reinstall. I find it tidier to keep that one .exe file on a CD-R with my serial number and activation code rather than keep around all the files in the setup directory.
