Video Factory to Screenblast update

When upgrading from Video Factory 2.0 to Screenblast, does the Screenblast installation overwrite Video Factory or install itself in a separate directory? If it installs as a completely separate program, can I put it on a separate computer from my Video Factory program?

I couldn't find any previous mention of this in the forum. I apologize if I've missed it.

When VF was installed, it went into C:\ProgramFiles\Sonic Foundry......
Screenblast put inself into C:\ProgramFiles\Screenblast....
So the answers are "no" to the overwrite, and "yes" to the
separate directory.

About your other question:

Yes, you can install it on a completely separate computer. That is what I wound up doing. When you buy the "upgrade" to Movie Studio 3.0, you'll actually get the full box and the full CD. You'll also receive a separate, new license key specific to Movie Studio 3.0.

The only thing that makes it an "upgrade" is that you don't have to pay full price for the new Movie Studio 3.0; when you place your order for the upgrade you will be prompted for your old Video Factory license key.

Thanks, Gerry and gogiants, for your responses; I expected the upgrade was a full separate program that doesn't need Video Factory for installation, but wanted to make sure, as I'm planning on getting a separate laptop for video.
