Video for menu Question

I know how to set up my menus such that the back ground media is set to a video. Within DVDA the default is that the video on my menu will start at the beginning of the clip.

What if I want my menu to start say 1/2 way through the video clip ? I can see no way of setting the "start point" - the default is the beginning and no where else.

Q: Is there a way of making this happen ?

My experience of VMS is that I can go to my source video and cut 30 seconds - render this as separate clip and use that - but it is a bit of a round about way.

Thanks Vincej

Depends on version, but look for loop point.
This was one of the most requested features. You can have some
action going on and have your buttons appear.

My opinion, & it's only that, is that with Vegas Pro/DVDA Sony felt that you're creating original content, so no need to incorporate some features more common on lower end apps that might be useful to folks whom might be re-using content, {gasp} even from DVDs {OMG}...

OTOH you'll usually get better results cutting/creating the new clip. As mentioned in another thread, program flow is not as simple as it might be on a DVDA DVD... If you loop your menu vid, the pause might be less if it restarts at the beginning of a clip rather than somewhere in the middle range.
