Video FX for the entire Track - Exlude certain Clips from inheriting?

I want to use a a Video Event FX for an entire Video track instead of putting it in every clip so i just did that, however there are a couple of clips I do not want the FX to integrate with. Is it possible to keep the FX for the entire track but exclude clips from the FX without having to place the FX manually in every clip...

One solution i use was to place the clips I did not want to inherit the FX into a new video track? Is this the appropriate solution? Thanks guys!

If you put an effect on a track, there are only two ways to disclude a couple of events.
1. Keyframe the track at those event points to not have the FX doing anything/at null point/inactive.
2. Put media to be discluded on a new track.
