Video FX problem

I'm working on a project and made a number of video FX changes to a nubmer of clips using Vegas 6. The next day, when I open the project they were there, but during the day, while adding audio and other things, my video effects changes disappeared and the clips look like the orginal footage again.

I decide that I'd have to redo all the video FXs, but when I tryed to add new FX, nothing happens in my video preview window as I change the sliders.

This is the first time I've had anything like this happen. I'm not totally new to this program, but this one has got me going in circles . Any help would be greatly appreciated.

There is an fX on/off toggle at the top of the preview window. If you click that, the fX should reappear.

John:

Thank you. I'll be your friend for life! I don't know how that got toggled.

I still have a problem because the FX changes (colors, contrast and leverls) look gross, but at least I can start over now. Don't know why the program didn't remember the correct FX setting though. I must have been doing a lot of button popping.

Thank you so much for your quick and insightful responce.

if you like a certain setting, save it. you can call it up again later, and add that certain effect to various projects.
