I can't find an answer to this and I'm at the point where I may just switch to Adobe Premiere Pro because this doesn't happen anywhere else.
Computer specs:
Windows 7 (32 bit)
Quad core 2.67GHz
4 GB RAM
I use Arcsoft ShowBiz to record video on my Hauppauge HDPVR 2 Gaming Edition capture card
I recently updated my Hauppauge driver, and now when I try to edit the videos recorded after the update, I experience choppy video during the preview and also after rendering. Meaning at thirty second intervals, the video will black out, then resume very laggy and clear up again after several seconds. There is no issue with audio and the video/audio will stay synced.
Project settings that I've always used:
AVCHD, stereo, 1920x1080-60i, 29.97 fps (NTSC)
Audio: 48k KHz, 16 bit
Recording settings:
M2TS 1920x1080 - 60fps, 8mb bit rate
Audio: 126kb bit rate, 48k KHz, AAC 2 channels
I reinstalled the old driver and still had the same issue. I did a system restore and still the same problem. I finally uninstalled all of my recording software including all of Sony products and the Hauppauge products and reinstalled them with the same issue. I've also tried adjusting my aspect ratios and recording formats with no success.
If I view the recorded video in any media programs, there is no issue with the audio or video at all, and I can edit it with no problems in Adobe Premiere Pro. I would like to keep using Sony Movie Studio but I'm not sure what else to try.
Any help is appreciated, thanks in advance.
