Video locked after arming audio to record

I do a lot of videos that are a series of photos. Frequently when we narrate, I adjust the length of the photos on the fly while recording audio. Mostly to add additional time to allow for dialog.

I just switched from using a Microsoft headset mic to a Blue Yeti boom mic for better quality so I don't know if this new behavior is caused by the mic change, a glitch, or some setting that I have accidentally changed.

Once I arm an audio track to record and start recording, I can't select anything from the video track to stretch or move. Not only that, after I stop recording and un-arm the audio track to record, my "J K L" keyboard commands no longer trigger play rewind and forward. I have to save my project, close Vegas and restart it.

Is there something that I can change to make this work like I expect it to work? Like it did before?

Thanks,

Kirk

Is there any change in the way your new mike is connected to your pc compared to your old one?

To start narrowing down the cause of your problem does going back to your old mike remove the problems?

No, both are connected by USB. I used the same project, created a new track and armed with the old MS headset. Same behavior.

I am sure that I have done something wrong, but can't figure out out. Maybe I will reboot the computer to see if it is something to do with windows.

Are you are stating that is worked before and is a setting issue?

The only thing I can think of off-hand is; "Allow edit cursor to be dragged"

I really don't want to drag the edit cursor. I want to drag video events.

Here is what is is doing.

You do not have to drag the event's edges and I am not sure if that is the cause.. Were your able to do it before? If not, it may not be possible to drag an exciting video event whilst recording audio.

I have done dozens of these cattle videos. I was always able to drag and reposition photos and video during audio recording until this week. I think there is a setting that may have been inadvertently changed.

I get the same behavior with VP-9. I currently do not have access to later versions to try on this 32 bit PC. If it was possible before, it probably is a setting. Maybe re-post (or move it) to the Vegas Pro Video forum were there are many expert users..

Nobody pays much attention to the audio forum (or audio in general for that matter <end rant>)

It is also a good question for Magix Vegas tech support .

Moved.
