Video movement (coarse) in Pan/Crop question

bryan-quarrie wrote on 5/13/2021, 8:57 AM

Hello,

When animating clips using the Pan/Crop function, is it possible to make the clip move in steps other than 1 pixel per movement?

What I'm trying to do is to move a coloured square across the screen in steps of 64 pixels. (it is for a transition I'm creating that uses square masks animated via keyframes).

Is there any way of doing this?

Thanks.

When I understood you right, should the movement jump from one keyframe to the next keyframe. Select keyframes, right click and select "Hold".

Thanks @3POINT

I've tried the method, and yes it works great!

Now, if only there was a method of snapping to other pixel values when arranging on the Pan/Crop window...:)

Hopefully it'll appear on Vegas Pro 19 :)

There's already a snapping feature, activate it and select the size of the snapping grid. For jumping 64 pixels select 1920/64=30 for grid spacing.
