Video Names on PS3

Hi Everyone,

I have a strange problem with WMV videos that I created with Vegas Platinum which do not show up with the proper name when transfered to the PS3 for playback.

Let me explain, I had a bunch of HD videos I took off my Sony HD camcorder and I to edited them in 3 projects. I then used each project to "Make Movie" in WMV 8 Mbps HD 1080-30p format. That all worked well. I then placed the 3 WMV video files, with the desired names on the HD of my PS3. Here is where I have problem, the PS3 see the files but lists the names of the video files as the garbage names I gave the Vegas projects when editing the video to make WMV video NOT the actual name I have given the files. How can I edit the WMV files on my computer so that the PS3 displays the correct names?

In the future I will be more careful with project names.

Regards,

Val

Nevermind I figured it out.

For those with this problem: Sony Vegas saves WMV files with the project name in the "Title" attribute. On a Windows computer get properties on the file and go to "Details" and edit the "Title" field. It appears the PS3 gets the display name of the file from here and not the actual file name.

The PS3 does the right thing, that's why these tags exist. The problem is that you don't name your project properly, and more over, you don't use the "render as" customization screen to set the title yourself. So it's not Vegas fault either.

And btw, 8 mbps for 1080p is not enough. You are better off to export in 720p if you are going to give it just 8 mbps.
