Video not full screen

I have a lot of movies taken with a Sony Handycam on my hard drive. When I preview these in VMS Pro 9a the preview screen shows the video playing in full screen. When I place the clip in the Video time line it plays with a black bar at the top and bottom of the screen.

I can fix this by going into Event Pan/Crop and selecting Match Output Aspect but I loose some of the picture.

Is there any way around this. I would love that it goes full screen as soon as the video is inserted.

The problem is that you didn't use the correct Project Properties settings. You need to load that dialog, and use the yellow icon to "match media". You do that for any new project.

Also, on the preview screen, right click and SELECT the "simulate..." option, but UNSELECT the "scale video..." option.
