video not playing...but only in Vegas

I have an animation that I made in Flash for test purposes. About 10 seconds of a hot dog sitting there telling you that he's a hot dog. Plain green background.
I export this file as an AVI uncompressed with sound. When I double click this file to open it in Windows Media Player or any other player, I have no troubles. The file plays great. When I bring this into Vegas, though, none of the animations show, just the audio. All I see is the first frame of the animation and nothing moves. Please help! What could be the prob?

It is a codec issue. You will need to find the codec you used to make the video and find the corresponding codec that will work in Vegas. I believe you will need the Video for Windows codec if I am not mistaken.

I dl'd the video for windows codec and no change. Do you know of any place I could get a good "safe" codec pack that may just cover all my bases?

Well, I found a decent codec pack I think and that didn't fix it. Maybe any other idea?

Vegas shouldn't have any problems dealing with an uncompressed AVI.
Does GSpot say it's uncompressed or something else?

Gspot says my codec is (_RGB) and the name is BI_RGB Bitmap. The status says No Codec Required. Is this OK?

I just tried it on an uncompressed AVI and got the same information.
All I can think of is that it has something to do with the way Flash exported the file.

But could you get your animation to play correctly in Vegas after you exported it as an avi?

Last month I did a compilation DVD for the animation students at the college I work for.
Approximately 30 animations, all given to me as uncompressed AVIs and all worked just fine in Vegas.

But did the one you exported yesterday play correctly in Vegas? Maybe you just thought they were uncompressed? I think it may be some sort of compatability issue.

Anyways.....I found a way to make it work. I just choose compressed AVI and choose a codec and move the quality to 100%. Choose any of the codecs and it works fine in Vegas.
