video output settings

Newbe here, When setting up a Vegas project with plans to include alot of pictures and a few video clips, then transfering to a dvd to watch on a widescreen, what are the best settings? pal ect., and file type. thanks for any help you can offer

Under File / Properties you can select a template for the entire project. Choose PAL DV Widescreen. This will set up everything properly for you. When rendering use MPEG-2 and either the DVD PAL or DVD Architect PAL Widescreen templates.
