Video Overlay vs. Video

I'm new to this software. I have inserted all still pictures into the Video Timeline and now want to insert some video from VCR tape but have run out of room on the Video timeline. It is at 10:00:00 and I can't scroll anymore. I guess I'm not clear on what the Video Overlay Timeline is for. Can someone clear that up for me and guide me on how to insert the video at the end.

Thank you very much.

If you mean you can't add more to the timeline because it already seems filled all the way to the right try clicking on the last control in the group that controls the preview. Its called the go to end control if you hover over it. That forces the cursor to the end of the timeline where the last event ends. Then double click on any file under the Exploer tab and it should jump to the end of the timeline automatically.

The Overlay track is mainly used for titles or video you want to have float over the main video track. You can change the opacity by carefully moving your cursor to the very top of the frame until it changes into a hand icon then you drag the thin blue line down to change the opacity. HAve fun!
