video preview

I installed Vegas5+DVDA2 and now have problems with the video preview. When previewing video at any resolution, my CPU pegs out at 100% and the preview skips and studders. This does not happen when viewing video in the trimmer, only from the timeline. Also, I did not have this problem with Vegas4. I still have Vegas4 installed, could this be a potential cause?
System specs: Pentium 4 3.0 ghz/1Gig RAM, Matrox Parhelia, and RME sound card. Thanks.

Are you having this problem in DVDA 2.0, or Vegas 5, or both? I have exactly the 100% CPU video stutter problem in DVDA 2.0, but Vegas 5 preview is working OK. (I have a 2.8 Ghz CPU).

After a little troubleshooting, I figured out the Magic Bullet plug-in was the problem. In my haste to start playing with Vegas 5, I just imported a video file and then added the Magic Bullet plug-in just to check it out. After I removed the plug-in from the chain it worked fine. I never had a problem with a plug-in consuming that much CPU so thats why I didn't suspect Magic Bullet was the problem.
