video preview using external video monitor

I am using a G400 Max on a GA-6VXE motherboard which has the latest
divers and bios

I am using Windows XP professional (version 2002)

I am unable to view the timeline on an external video (PAL) monitor connected to the
G400 Max (output is possible via the firewire link to a Dv Camcorder

Any suggestions?

Is it possible to use a second (Svga) monitor to view the preview monitor output?

The way it works with VV3 is you hook up firewire to your camcorder, then analog from camcorder to your monitor. Click the little TV above your (computer) preview to activate your external monitor.
