Video preview Window in Vegas

Hy guys,
I wish to tank you for your great job with VEGAS.
I think is one of the best NLE I ever tried.
I am an italian video maker primer and I have a question.
My equipment is a Athlon XP 2200, 2 x 120 GB raid 0 Hard disks, 512 MB Ram, win 2000 and Nvidia GeForce 5200 Vga (dual head + SVHS out).

Now the question:
is there any kind of way ( ie: software or driver or something) to redirect the Vegas video preview window to the SVHS out of my VGA card? This could be very usefull to preview the timeline straight to a televison monitor in the same way as the firewire out ( ..plus a DV/ analogic converter ) acts, but in a cheaper way.
Any idea?

Tank you very much for your grat software.
Max

I have done this.

I've used the TV out option on my Dell laptop. I'll tell you from the outset. The output is rubbish! Now, I may have set up the options incorrectly - but I don't think so. The other thing is that once you've set up the "correct" viewing format for the TV - I've then got a less than a useful viewing screen within my laptop. Oh yes, the other major thing is that I've never been able to get "just" the Preview Screen to fill the TV. You need to adjust where and how the preview displays. And when you move the mouse cursor the image on the TV screen moves! A real headache.

Now with all these negatives firewire - in my opinon - is THE way to go . . sorry, unless you've got some cash to do the firewire thing, I wouldn't bother. The other thing is that as far as I'm aware, Vegas provides for "just" the Preview screen. Using the TV-Out uses ALL the pc screen - Nah! It is really messy AND after each session you need to reconfigure your settings to get back to what you had! - But, as I say I may set my settings incorrectly - I don't think so . . . .

Regards,

Grazie
