Video Preview Window vs 9 does not work!

Greetings all, I have been here for years and rarely write.
I have used all Vegas from version 4 to now, Vegas Pro 9. For the first time, my preview window does not seem to work. I can hear the clip, but not see it. I have tried everything I can think to do but have not been able to fix it. Does anyone here have any thoughts about this strange problem? thanks so much.

What media? .. All media? Even stills? Did you try a de-install and re-install of V9 ?

Are you previewing from Timeline, Project Media, Trimmer?

Try clicking "Show Video Monitor" icon in Trimmer.

This sounds to me like it's playing in the trimmer, and you probably hid the trimmer to view the project media window.

It also sounds like you've used every version of Vegas and Vegas Pro except for version 8.0c, which is the one that introduced the capability for the trimmer to play it's own clips.

Go try it again, and when you hear sound but don't see video, open the trimmer.
