I make tutorials for Samplitude and have been using Video Pro X for a long time to edit and author them. I used to use Camtasia Studio but it was just too unreliable. Recently I started rendering them in 4K. This is purely for my YouTube channel www.youtube.com/kraznet Nothing too sophisticated just straightforward clear and informative information with minimum of video effects.
I thought I would do a comparison between the rendering from VPX 4K MP4 vs Vegas 15 4K MP4. The test used a 02:08 MP4 4K video screen capture from Bandicam H264-NVENC see screenshot. I rendered out from VPX and the file size was 53,082kb see encoder setting in screenshot. I then rendered it from Vegas 15 and the file size was 179,811kb. To my eyes the quality of the VPX render is perfectly fine for my needs. Bearing in mind this was a straight render with out any pan and zoom. Has anyone any suggestions for emulating the MP4 render of VPX in Vegas so I end up with a similar quality and file size? Also as the original audio was done at 44.1 kHz I change the setting for the MP4 output to 44.1 as well as it seems pointless resampling. Is that acceptable practice? Incidentally the render in VPX took around 3 minutes and the render in Vegas took 02:29.
Thanks for any help.
