video problem...

When I add a video clip to the project and preview it, I only get the sound. The video goes to black after 1 second of play. Anybody have a clue why this happens? The clip plays fine outside of Screenblast (Real Player and WMP). Am I possibly missing a codec or something?

What type of camcorder are you capturing from? Is it digital video? Are you using a firewire connection to your computer? Are the files that you capture from your camcorder NTSC-DV AVIs?

sorry...should have been more specific and should have checked back sooner. I am using a JVC digital video camera. I am using the USB connection (probably going to buy a firewire card this weekend though....that seems to be the preferred connection). The files I have tried to use I captured using the software that came with the camera...they are MPEG files. They play fine outside of Screenblast, so I know they are OK.

Any thoughts/info?
