Video quality in preview vs what I'll see on DVD?

Does the video quality that I see in the monitor in Vegas equal what I will see on the DVD final product? Specifically: I am editing a project in which I am importing a variety of video clips from different sources, of different quality. When I look at one part of the movie I am editing, if I set the output to be 1080-60i and the preview quality to "preview auto" or "preview full" the playback in the Vegas screen is very smooth. If I set the preview to "Best - Full" the playback is very choppy. Does that mean that the movie itself on the DVD will be choppy?

Thanks

No, the preview does not affect the render. If you set your Project temporarily to a SD template, and the size to Best, Full, you will get a better "approximation" of the output, but jerky preview, which can happen under a variety of conditions is not a cause for concern.

BTW, the Sony Knowledgebase articles are very helpful:

Thanks for the reply and the pointer to the KB. I'm finding a lot to like here (I've purchased and used everything from Pinnacle Studio, Ulead, Magix MEP Pro, to Premiere) as I figure various parts out. I'd really like an in-depth tutorial book or video that takes you through the details of most aspects, but I'll grind it out. ;)

The Help > Show Me How... tutorials are pretty good at doing that.

vasst.com is a good place to start.

Some good totorials:

Though this link is for Vegas Pro. There are still some good tips that can be applied to Video Studio.
