video quality while zoomed / cropped

Hi all, I've seached through the forum to get an answer to this, and all I've found so far is info on stills - and very useful info, at that.

First, let me quickly say that I've been a user of Pinnacle Studio for 2+ years, and while I will still use it for some VHS work, VF has it beat in SO many ways.

Anyway, on to my question - I have a video interview where the subject could have been zoomed in on, but wasn't. I'd like to do that in VF while maintaining the original quality - is this possible? I did a quick test late last night of cropping about a minute of it and rendering, but it is not as sharp and clear as the original. Is there a way to maintain original quality when zooming video?

thanks all,
David

Sorry, dmcknight, but I don't think it's possible.

Unlike a still image, which you can bring in at any resolution and then zoom in to no less than 72 ppi, a video image is 720 x 480 pixels by nature. If you zoom in on it too much, you're going to get pixelation.

Take care.
