Video Sequence playout order

Radio Guy wrote on 1/7/2013, 4:55 AM
I have the latest DVD Architect 6 and have looked through the tuts but can't find a solution for a live speaker event with videos played in order in the following scenario.

DVD with a motion menu client Logo on screen without text menus and the speaker talks live on stage then plays the first video via remote and when it ends goes back to logo as he speaks live on stage then plays the next video in the order and once stops goes back to the logo on screen as the speaker talks live and this process would need to be repeated for 10 - 3 minute videos in order of play.

I've tried playlists but doesn't seem to work or I'm doing something wrong so any help would be appreciated.

Render one video in Vegas the way you want it, with markers at chapter points.
It sounds like you are trying to edit in Architect, which is an authoring program.

This would definitely be better (and more easily) edited in Sony Vegas or Movie Studio.

DVD Architect is a disc authoring program, and it doesn't make a very versatile video editor. For best results, you should load it with your finished video and save DVD Architect for creating your menu structures.

There you go, Radio Guy! Two smart guys who gave exactly the same answer at exactly the same time!

Thanks Guys!

I guess I'll make one long video with chapters in Vegas Pro 12 as suggested, it's just that I wanted a non-murphy's law scenario on the final shipped dvd where the on stage live presenter would just click next for the video and then back to the main menu on the DVD with just a spinning client animated logo and he could talk as long as he wanted on stage and then click next.

Cheers and onto looking at chapters

I don't see any reason why you couldn't do this as part of the DVD authoring.

Create a MENU with a button for each video. At the end of each video tell the END action to return to the video, but have it Select the button for the next video to be played. It can loop until he hits ENTER on the Remote to select the button for the next video. If you don't want to see the TEXT, you would need to make them transparent. But this would be a leap of faith that the next video would be the correct one. ;)

Otherwise, he will have to pause between each video, which will require some good timing on his part.

Thanks DaveT2

I've tried with the chapters but doesn't work as well as what you have suggested above. So I've rendered out each individual short video of 13 that are under 3 minutes a piece and now I'll try your transparent text suggestion, so it doesn't interfere with the logo running between each segment. If that, as you say as a leap of faith, doesn't workout then I'll have to bite the bullet and go with text all over the logo.

Cheers

You really wouldn't need a lot of text, just small numbers along the bottom of the scene to indicate which video is designated to play next. Each of these numbers is a button.

Thanks I used the numbers and blended them into the logo color wise so it didn't look too distracting and weird on a large projected screen. You'd think when they created the DVD format that you'd be able to just click next and so on. Next year, probably group the vids in something like vidcaster or the like.

Thanks for the info
