Are you trying to load the file directly into DVD Architect? Does the file open in Vegas?

Download MediaInfo and post the complete file details.

Yes, I have oppened the video directly from sony DVD Architect Studio. The video plays fine ,but there is no audio or sound comming out. The video is in AVI format. Besides when I opened with media player or quick-time player the video plays with audio which means it plays fine. But not in the DVD Architect Studio. It seems strange.

DVD Architect is an authoring program.
It accepts a narrower range of file types than an editing program.

The tutorial I linked to mentions that AVI files can contain dozens of different audio and video codecs.

Once again, do the files open in Vegas??
