Video Stops Playing 2/3 of the way through... and.

So this is an odd thing I haven't seen before and I hope someone has a solution for me.

I am working on a very poorly recorded video file (video: 320x240, 1292kbps - audio: 320kbps, 2 channel, 44kHz). It's also in WMV format. When I play the original file in Media Player it plays just fine (i.e. video and audio). When I bring it into Vegas Pro 11 the video stops playing and freezes about 2/3 (at 38 seconds or so) of the way through while the audio continues.

What's interesting is that the video stops playing when the track gets to a little white arrow/marker in the video timeline. Here is a link to screen grab so you can see the arrow/marker I'm talking about: http://www.393media.com/stuff/sound1.jpg

Anyone have any ideas what that marker is and why might the video stop playing while the sound still goes? Again, original file plays fine.

Thanks!

Just to add.... if you look at the screen grab there are actually two of those arrow/markers. The video freezes right after the second marker.

I am not sure what those markers are. Are they draggable?

No. I've tried dragging them but they don't grab. This is odd, isn't it?

Does it render properly?

What camera was this recorded on?

Could these have been markers of some sort in the original clip?

Try dragging the file to mediainfo (freeware) and post the results.

I would try splitting the video somewhere between these markers, and then drag the right-hand piece off to the right and see if the marker moves with it.

Frankly I am just muddling around here, but sometimes something pops out of the old brain...
