Video Sync problem in Record mode

I would like to report a rather serious problem I
encountered trying to use Vegas Video 2.0 d.

When I output the video signal to external monitor using
the OHCI Compliant IEEE 1394 option,(which by the way,
always worked just fine in version 2.0 b); in RECORD mode
the video feed is out of sync by a good 15 frames or more,
meaning the picture starts 15 or so frames after the
start of the audio portion of the signal. In PLAY mode
everything returns to normal. By the way the audio portion
I’m referring to, includes the audio that is part of the
AVI / DV file, only the video feed is out of sync. All
Captures are done using Sonic Foundry's Video Capture 2.0 b
Build 39. I have tried both type 1 and type 2 AVI / DV
Files with the problem remaining the same.

We are an Audio Post Production Studio doing mostly V/O,
Dialogue, SFX, Foley and ADR work. As you can imagine using
2.0 d with the problem I described above is impossible for
us.
We are running 2 identical systems ( both having the same
problem ) consisting of:
1)Windows 98 se with all the latest updates from Microsoft.
including DX 8.0a and DV patches.
2)Asus A7V Mother Board.
3)AMD Athlon 800 MHz Processor.
4)256 mg of RAM.
5)Maxtor 17g HD for System use only.
2 x IBM DTLA-307060 60g HD( 1 Audio and 1 Video ).
All temp and Pre-Render Files are sent to there respective
Audio or Video drive.
The System Drive is used only to hold the Operating System
and the Applications.
All drives are FAT32.
6)Matrox G 400 Display Card.
Simple 800 x 600 VGA no Dual Head
7)Frontier Design: 1)Dakota, 2)Montana, 3)Sierra
Audio System with Latest Drivers (2.08).
8)ADS Pyro ( OHCI Compliant ) IEEE 1394 card
connected to a SONY DVMC-DA2 media Converter.

Hoping someone can come up with a solution to this
problem!!!

Try setting preview quality to "preview", and then dial in
the offest with the sync offset slider on the external
monitor page-

I always work in preview mode
And I stated in my first request for info the sync problem
is mutch greater then 8 frames witch is the rage available
in the offset section you are referring to.
Also it would force me to switch the offset on and off
everytime I wanted to make a playback.

I'm having the same problem too. I just bought a Pyro card
to use with my new copy of Vegas Video. For me, it's about
10-12 frames out. I have the slider all the way to 8, but
it's still a few off. The reason why I got Vegas is to do
sound editing. I'm shooting ADR in a week, and it's going
to be hard. I noticed that Premiere is the same too. Is
it just the way the OHCI cards work? My Raptor never had
this problem, but it works a little different because it
has the overlay feature which is great.
