Video tracks not showing

I've been making training videos lately. I start with a basic camcorder - video and audio - track. After editing it down, I narrate on an additional audio track below the original and turn the original volume down. At various spots, I'll insert an arrow or still photo on additional video tracks above the original. Today, nearing the end of a project, all of the additional video tracks above the original stopped working. The level was at 100%, I could see the thumbnails in the timeline, but they weren't showing when I previewed. I had to make additional new video tracks and move the files into the new ones. Not a huge disaster, but still. I don't know what happened that turned them off, I don't know why they looked like normal, etc. Before doing the fix, I closed and restarted Vegas Pro (19 by the way). When that didn't help, I rebooted the computer. Neither worked.

Any thoughts? I know sometimes I'll inadvertently hit a letter key and the cursor changes or something. Did I possibly hit something that muted those tracks? If so, why didn't it show them as muted?

OK, I'll shut up now.

Can you post a screen shot include timeline and media pool for sure.

My guess would be that you solo'd a track and, therefore, the other ones became muted.

Thanks for the replies. Unfortunately, after I fixed it, I did a save-as on the .veg file and lost the bad one.

As far as soloing a track, wouldn't all of the others go blank then? This was still playing the original camcorder tracks, just not the stills and arrows above it.

The main thing is that I was able to salvage it, but still curious as to what happened.

My own fault in that I destroyed the evidence :-(.

Thanks again for the quick responses.

Wait... if I soloed the original camcorder track, THEN those added above wouldn't show. I tried that and that's what happened. I was looking at the tracks that weren't showing, when maybe I should have looked at the one that was showing.

Yep. That's what I was saying.

Took me a bit of messing around. I instinctively looked at the tracks that weren't showing thinking the problem was there. I've been using the program for both video and audio since ver. 7, and am still learning.
