"When I transferred from folder to vegas, portions of video displayed pixel drop out-refresh issue?"

I will assume that you viewed your footage in the Vegas' Preview window. That's just a preview. You can configure that preview as "Best" and it may look better. However, it's just a preview. To see what it really looks like, you'll have to render it and then play that rendered file. The template you use will determine the quality of the rendered video.

Mike,
Thank you for responding to my question. I did render it, and the flaw was still present.
Thanks,
Plaza

To which format did you render?

Are there any other objects (clips, still photos) on the timeline at the point where the artifacts show?

Hi Mike,
avi for DVD. No other clips, etc. Funny thing is, that if I take raw footage and transfer directly to Microsoft moviemaker timeline, the problem disappears.
PS- I'm not pushing microsoft-I'm having loads of fun on Vegas and prefer it over all the products I've tried.

Thank you,
Plaza
