i got a dvd with some content (i project that's in post with some of the stuff i have shot) i know it's not the best way as it's compressed but still what's the best way of extracting the content of the DVD???

I managed to copy the contents of teh DVD on my HD but when i open the *.VOB file in Vegas instead of 3 minut clip it only shows 9 seconds...????
