VideoCapture - Project

When I initiate VideoCapture, it always presents me with a
screen inviting me to name the new .sfvidcap project. My
question is this: For what purpose is this .sfvidcap
file? To the best of my admittedly limited knowledge, I
don't use .sfvidcap files in VegasVideo, can't even find
them in the media list. One doesn't do any editing within
VideoCapture, so, how are these files used?

I can elect not to name the project, not to save it upon
closing VideoCapture, and, as long as I remember where I
told VideoCapture to store my captured video clips, I can
navigate to them from within Vegas Video, import them, edit
them, render avi's based upon them.

Just curious, and, if ignorance is bliss, I'm having a lot
of fun.

Thanks.

If you want to continue a capture session later, it is
useful to save the capture session. If not, just remember
where you put the captured media (it also helps organize
your media if you rename the file and note the tape during
the capture session)

So, I am I reading your reply correctly that saving a
project file as .sfvidcap only serves to group the clips
for that capture session, so that there is no other use for
the .sfvidcap file?

It seems to me that if I specify an easily identifiable
directory for all clips in a particular project, I
shouldn't need any .sfvidcap file, right?

You can't edit, render, or otherwise manipulate these
files, right?

Thanks again for your helpful replies.
