VideoFactory limitations

I was disappointed in learning of VideoFactory's 4gig limit
under Win98 for a rendered video. I often have need to
output a project longer than 15-16 minutes to tape. I often
combine several 15 minute captures into a final project. I
don't mind using a 30 to 40 gig hard drive for a project
(12-15 gigs for an hour of capture and 12-15 gigs for the
rendered project). I really don't cherish the thought of
switching to NT or W2000 to do a few long projects.

Does VegasVideo work the same?

Some of the other editors use the original capture files
for the output except for the segments that need to be
rendered, then they create separate rendered files for
those segments. The project is output to tape without the
whole thing being a single rendered file.

Any plans for Vegas of Factory doing this in the future?

The 4 GB limit is a Windows file system limit. NTFS
formatted drives under Win2k don't have this limitation.

It is a possibility that we'll playback "cutlists" in
future revisions-
