Is there a sxript that would create a vid of jpg's, i.e. add jpg's from a folder to the time line and set to short duration and save project ready to be rendered ?
Just select the pictures in the explorer window and drag them to the timeline. You can set the duration and whether or not to overlap them in Options - Preferences.
If it is a series of pictures (i.e. 1 picture for each FRAME), just use File - Open, pick the first picture, and check the box telling Vegas it is a series of pictures.
Has anyone out there created script that will look for each vid (or jpg) on the time line, work out the position and length and add text media on the video track above it - matching the length..... perhaps with a default text such as the 'date' or 'title' or an incrementing number.
i.e. i tried clicking on text media in the media pool, multiple times, but they are all altered together when edited....... and i got hundreds of jpgs on the time line.
Guess another way is some script to take an item in the media pool and copy it a number of times back to the media pool, so they can be added to the time line.
When creating text media (from copying an existing text media) you have an option to copy to a NEW media or link to the same media. If you link, when one is changed they will all be changed. When separate, they can all be changed individually. By using the media pool, you were creating "linked" events. To create NEW events, drag from the media generator instead.
Here's a QUICK method: double click the event to match lengths, right-click the blank track and choose "Insert Text Media".
A script to do what you want wouldn't be that difficult to write. Just add a new text media (only a named preset can be used) starting at the beginning of each event for the length of each event.
If you set the proper size in Options - Preferences, all of the text and pictures will be made the same size. If you make multiple size text events, you will need to manually adjust the sizes UNLESS you use my script that places markers on events and then use the other script that places pictures to markers.
