Viewing HD Rushes on Panasonic BD35 via DVD-R?

Folks, has anyone successfully rendered a HD 1080-50i timeline to a format that can be burnt to a DVD and is compatible with a Panasonic DMP-BD35 Blu-Ray player?

The "Burn Disc" -> "Blu-ray Disc" function isn't compatible, the Panasonic can't read the disc (I don't have a PS3), so I'm wondering if any other export/render option might work?

I'm only creating short films and am too cheap to keep burning rough cuts to Blu-ray so I thought I'd attempt to use blank DVD-Rs instead.

The Panasonic came with a SD card on which there were a few example HD clips - presumably from an AVCHD camcorder - but I didn't keep them so don't know how to replicate the format. Rendering the timeline to a Sony AVC .m2ts file and putting it on an SD card doesn't work, the file isn't recognised at all.

Any input would be welcome!

Thank you! That's an excellent solution. I could render AVCHD out of Vegas and go to DVD-R, SD and even DVD-RW and all would work on the Blu-ray players I tried (including the Panasonic). That'll save a lot of headaches.
