Viewing on external moniter

Hi I am running Movie studio DVD. I am trying to View on external moniter. I have the second moniter(TV) installed. I can send mouse and screens from moniter to TV. As a large desk top. In vegas I click on, View on external moniter button. Nothing happens. Am I doing something wrong?
Reading another topic I got the idea to try the 1394 port to the camera then to LCD TV. That seems to work, but I still want to figure out how to do it threw the computer without the camera.

VMS won't let you use a second Windows display for preview -- you have to buy the full version of Vegas to do that. The Movie Studio version of Vegas will only allow you to preview via your IEEE-1394.

You can undock the preview window - can't it be moved to another monitor?
