I just had a quick look around the Vimeo music site and it appears that a commercial license any of the music selections is $98 (even 10 second clips). And it appears that the $98 license basically only allows the music to be used on the web.

This is a summary of their extended licensing from their web site:

DVD: $400 - $600

That's pretty dang steep considering what's available from other resources.

You missed the FREE music?

Sorry, but I sometimes forget that there are a lot of users here that are hobbyists. And sure, the FREE content is fun to listen to, but I create content for clients, not for my own use, so I can only use a commercial license for any music that I would need.

Hobbyists?

Being the professional you are, then you well know that the prices quoted are chump change... to those producting professional programming. They pay big bucks to score their projects.

Remember the old saying, "If you can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen."

I didn't say the music they are offering wasn't worth the commercial license fees that they are charging. I'm sure that there are many really good music clips available.

I'm just saying that the "FREE" and $1.98 clips are only available for "hobbyist" use, not for commercial productions. I didn't mean to imply that you are a hobbyist. I was just stating the fact that there ARE many hobbyist here on the Vegas PRO forums that CAN use free and $1.98 music clips for their own projects.

It's just that I can't use those clips for my clients projects at that price point. And since my clients haven't got huge budgets, I have found resources for acceptable music at lower prices points, like sounddogs.com.

And as a reply to your last statement -- I have been producing "paid for" video projects for over 35 years, and so far the heat in the kitchen has been bearable.

Sorry if you took offense -- none was intended...
