Virtual memory, need help!

Can someone help me? I've tried doing my own research on setting virtual memory and it seems like the more I mess with it, the worse my system becomes lol.

Here's my specs:

Win XP Pro sp3 32 bit
Vegas Pro 8c
2gb Corsair 800mhz RAM
I use a LOT of plug-ins

System drive C: western digital wd400aaks-00yga0 400gb 7200rpm HD
paging file size: Custom size: intial 2, maximum 512mb

File drive D: western digital wd1001fals-00u9b0 1tb 7200rpm HD
paging file size: Custom size: intial 512, max 1024

total paging file size for all drives
Minimum allowed: 2mb
Recommended: 3069mb
Currently allocated: 512mb

Help!

Thanks,
Tim

There's no need for more than one paging file. I leave mine on the C: drive. I also set mine to have an initial size of 3GB. Normally no more than 500MB is used at any time, but when there are spikes, it's already big enough to accommodate them so it never has to pause to increase the size.

Not sure pagefile size will fix your problem. I'd suggest popping in 3 or 4GB depending on how your mobo slots work (thus having 3GB usable) would be a better place to concentrate on.

Before the inevitable major upgrade....
