VMS 11: Ghosting artifacts when rendering to 720p

I have a JVC GZ-HM650 digital camera. This camera has a Full HD (1080p) PAL output. I want to edit and render these videos to 720p (25 fps) so I can can use them on YouTube. However when I edit the .MTS files in Vegas Movie Studio HD Platinum, the rendered video shows some serious ghosting artifacts (I hope that's the correct technical term for this issue):

After I add the .MTS file to the project, I open the project settings and use the "Match Media Settings" option to configure the project, which is then automatically set to:

Template: HD 1080-50i (1920x1080; 25,000 fps)
Width: 1920
Height: 1080
Frame rate: 25,000 (PAL)
Field order: Upper field first
Pixel aspect ratio: 1,0000 (Square)
Stereoscopic 3D mode: Off
Full-resolution rendering quality: Good
Deinterlace method: Blend fields
Adjust source media to better match project or render settings: Off

And I use the following render settings:

Render template: Sony AVC/MVC - Internet 1280x720-25p
Audio: 128 Kbps; 48.000 Hz; 32 Bit; Stereo; AAC
Video: 25 fps; 1280x720 Progressive; YUV; 8 Mbps
Pixel Aspect Ratio: 1,000

These rendering settings result in serious ghosting artifacts (see screenshot above). I've also tried other 720-25p render templates (e.g. Windows Media Video V11 - 5 Mbps HD 720-25p Video), all with the same result: ghosting. By the way, I've also disabled resampling of the video (right mouse click on clip > Switches > Disable Resample).

The only render template that doesn't show any ghosting artifacts: Sony AVC/MVC - AVCHD 1920x1080-50i. But when I upload these videos to YouTube, the YouTube conversion results in the same ghosting artifacts.

I then tried to edit and render the same .MTS source file with Core VideoStudio Pro X4 and CyberLink PowerDirector 9. These rendered files (720-25p) don't show any ghosting artifacts at all:

What am I doing wrong in Vegas Movie Studio?

"Deinterlace method: Blend fields"

That's the problem. Use Interpolate instead.
If you want even better quality, see our tutorial here, and adapt the suggested settings for your PAL frame rate:
Hint: you will probably need to use the modified levels filter at 9:05 for your AVCHD source footage.

Thanks @musicvid, using "Interpolate" as the deinterlace method got rid of the ghosting artifacts. I'm going to check out the tutorial later to see how I can optimize video rendering for YouTube purposes. :-)
