RE: VMS 11, build # 231:
I "match media settings" but all that's displayed is the upper left corner of the video (perhaps 1/4 of the total frame). It appears to be zoomed, but my unzooming attempts have failed.
What model of camcorder is your video coming from?
Which project settings does your project show as in use? (Click on the Project Properties button on the Preview window.)
What happens if you select 1920x1080 video settings from this option panel?
If your video is filling the frame and yet you're only seeing 1/4 of it, it sounds like you've loaded high-def video into a project that's set up for standard def.
1) I am capturing H.D. TV via Hauppauge. The Hauppauge encoder is titled H264. Its Source Resolution is labeled 1920 x 1080 @ 30fps. The saved format is labeled MP4.
2&3) I don't know how to display a snap-shot here. The Property values set by VMS:
" HD Template=1080x60i (1920x1080 29.970 fps)"; "Field Order=Upper First" ; "Pixel Aspect Ratio=1.0 (square)"; "3D Mode=off".
Please note: The video displays ok using other software.
You didn't tell us your Preview settings.
Start with "Preview" and "Auto."If it is set at "Full" you will only see the portion that fits at full resolution.
My "Preview" has been automatically set to "Auto". I tried all other settings (full, half, quarter) with no change. All I see is the upper-left of the frame.
WMP, WMP Classic-Home Cinema and FLV Player4Free playback ok.
However, VLC displays the same as VMS: just the upper left of the frame.
“You don't have Track Motion active at the track level or Pan/Crop on the event, do you?” I’ve just begun to use VMS and can’t get past step #1: playback an mp4. I haven’t changed defaults.
Since I updated to Build #247, I have no Help file. I’ve looked for “Track Motion” but cannot find it. I know I haven’t done any pan/cropping.
-- Post the complete media properties as reported by MediaInfo
-- Look at the media properties in the "Project Media" window in Vegas. If they don't match the actual media, you may have to change them manually, and also your Project properties to match.
-- Run the video through the VideoRedo trial version using the "Quickstream Fix" option. This is usually necessary to use any PVR source in an NLE, for reasons I won't get into here.
