Is this true? Is the Vista Version actually available? When communicating with Sony with problems with 7.0 platinum, I was told that the Vista version wouldn't be out for another 30-60 days. And, that was just a couple of days ago.
Hard to say. I've seen several new posters mention VMS 8, so one would think that maybe that's the version they got. Then again, one would also reasonably think that one could look at sonycreativesoftware.com's website to find out. The Vegas Studio page doesn't say what version is current. The only reference i found at all is on the demos download page which still lists version 7. http://www.sonycreativesoftware.com/download/step2.asp?DID=684
Edit: Okay -- I quickly read some of the stuff at VideoGuys. VMS and VMS Plat will both have the new "snapping" feature. You guys are going to LOVE that. (Vegas got the snapping feature in Version 7)
Tech Specs at buy.com link specifically lists Vista or XP SP2 for operating system requirements. So Vista is officially supported.
Again, though, these links might be a bit early. Not sure if this product is actually shipping yet, but Sony had previously announced VMS 8 being available in July.
The "My Software" page offers me an "Upgrade to Vegas Movie Studio+DVD Platinum Edition", but even there it doesn't say which version. Grrrrrrrrrr.
Speaking of which, has anyone else noticed that the "My Software" page doesn't seem to be sorted anymore? It's a minor issue, but it is a tad annoying.
