VMS 8.0d- confused about codecs

I'm running VMS 8.0d and am trying to optimize for Vimeo and youtube. I prefer vimeo, and that is what I am really trying to get the best out of. I have dv 16:9 videos (SD), but I have no H.264 codec in my rendering choices that I can find. Do any of you know how I get an H.264 codec working in VMS 8?

Someone here may be able to tell you how to trick VMS into doing H.264 encoding, but in the meantime you might try WMV as described in this link. (Thanks, Eugenia for writing it.) I've had what I consider good results following this.

WMV is ok, so is Eugenia, of course, but lately I have been experimenting with the mp4 codec (sony avc/aac) template PSP full screen. I think it works wonderful for SD, while the filesizes are much smaller and the rendering much faster. This may only come with VMS 8 Platinum edition.
