VMS 9.0 Crashes When Importing Video Media

bionix wrote on 1/16/2012, 10:39 AM
Whenever I try to Import Media (video) either for a new project or even a saved file, my VMS 9.0 crashes. This is a new problem that hasn't occurred before. There is no warning. Sometimes I don't even have to click on a file to import, it just closes on me. I have searched for an answer on Google & this forum but can't seem to find a problem like this. Getting to be very frustrating.

Any suggestions are welcome.

I'm no expert....

I'm running VMS 9.0b on WinXP SP3 and have not had your experience.

There are many helpful people here so I'd suggest telling them more about your computer first?

Have you uninstalled / reinstalled yet?
Have you done the free updates to version 'b'?
Suspect programs running in the background (IE: anti-virus / wireless networking)?

Good luck....

Nothing...

1. Re-installed it
2. No updates available for 'b'
3. Norton not the problem

Extreme;y frustrating. Ready to go back to one of my old programs.

Hey bionex.....

To be clear:
I meant did you install the update to 'b' and it appears you have.

Did you install ANY program or update prior to having this problem?

Sorry I know so little to guide you further.
If any epiphany comes to mind I'll chime in.

Hope you get it resolved asap....

Silly question -- what kind of video are you trying to import?
Use MediaInfo (from Sourceforge) and provide all the details.

The project may be corrupt. Try deleting the vf file (or moving the file) and when VMS starts up, create a new project.

See if that helps.
