VMS 9 released too soon?

After observing the posts in this forum about problems with VMS9, I can't help having the feeling that Sony released the program too soon. Here is my list of issues that hold me from upgrading:
1) On some machines, VMS9 simply won't run.
2) DVDA 4.5 doesn't burn bluray discs.
3) The newblue fx are gone, except cartoonr plugin, which newblue fx gives away for free on their site, btw.

On the plus side, I think that the Cinescore Studio plugin is kind of interesting. I really don't see the point of adding SoundForge to the program library.

Overall, my feeling is that I would lose some features, rather than gain something, which, of course, is quite the opposite of what you would expect from an 'up'grade.
Out of curiosity, I took a look at the features of the competition today: Pinnacle 12 Ultimate and Adobe Premiere 7. If you ask me, you get a lot more there, for the same amount of money. Up to now, I have always appreciated VMS' load of features and stability, but now, Sony will have to do a lot more, and do it quickly, to convince me to upgrade.

I used to be a Pinnacle user and finally got so fed up with this buggy software that I dumped it and jumped to Sony which is far superior. Has Pinnacle cleaned up their act? I doubt it.

-According to the description the VMSP-pack includes the DVDA 4.5 - which - according to its description - does not include Blu-ray tools.
If one wants the Blu-ray tools they are included in the Full Vegas Pro pack.
There is probably a reason why the studio version is soo much cheaper than the full version.

-When you have paid the VMSP 9 Pro pack you receive download instructions for:
New Blue VideoFX MSPP
New Blue Cartoonr Plug-in
But, truly, The Fx's are not included in the trial version.
This has been said several times here.

I recently upgraded from 3.0b after evaluating the trial versions of 8.0 and 9.0. I purchased the download version of VMS Platinum Pro Pack AND the "Optional Shipped Components". Once I paid, Sony immediately emailed the serial numbers for all of the components and I was able to download the software and start using most of it that day. The DVD came about 4 days later and I installed the components I was not able to download. (NOTE: all of the software is on the DVD that I received). So far, so good. It all seems to be working great. I am one of the fortunate folks who has not experienced the execution difficulties discussed on other posts and mentioned above (I don't have a Dell which at least appears to be a common thread in this problem).

I think 9.0 is great. However, at first I was a little disappointed in the the Cinescore Plugin, but after using it successfully, the few controls Sony has bundled (as compared to the full-blown version of Cinescore) is not as limiting as I had originally thought it would be. The recent posts on the startup problem indicates that Sony took this very serious and is close to a resolution.

And burning Blu-ray with DVDA shouldn't be it when there are plenty of under $99 competitors that do burn Blu-ray.
