VMS HD Platinum 10.0 Audio Missing

Rev_Bob wrote on 5/19/2011, 10:11 AM
I've asked this question before and did not see an answer, so here goes again.

When rendering HD video from 1080 down to 720, the audio if fine until about 60-65 minute point, at which point it disappears entirely in the rendered output file.

I've tried multiple input and output file formats and the results are the same. A few momentary dropouts and then it simply goes away at just past the 60-minute point.

I had the same issue with v9.0 and thought the upgrade might solve the problem, but did not.

I have also tried on two different PCs, each running Win 7 Ultimate 64-bit OS with no difference in results.

It appears there is a limitation in VMS. Please advise.

Well, if you have changed both input and output formats, and the result is always the same, then that seems to be like a genuine Vegas bug. If that's the case, not much we can do about it here. Contact Sony and ask for a fix.

Is this happening on a specific project or on all projects?
What media is on the timeline at the point the audio drops out?
Use Mediainfo to find out the properties of your media.
Posting a screen grab of your timeline would also be helpful.

All projects where I'm exceeding 60-65 minutes run time. It starts with dropping a few seconds of audio here and there, and then it simply seems to stop encoding the audio.

Where might I post a screen grab?

Thanks in advance.

Post your system specs.
You can upload an image almost anywhere and link to it by following the "markup" instructions at the top of the forum list.

Main System:

Processor: AMD Phenom 4 9500
Memory: 4 GB RAM (Readyboost enabled with 8GB USB Drive)
Storage: 3xHD (1.0, 1.0 and 1.5 TB) where Primary drive has 64 MB cache, others 32 MB each
Graphics: NVIDIA GForce 5400 512 MB DDR2
OS: Win 7 Ultimate 64-bit SP1

Secondary System:

Processor: AMD Athlon x2 4600
Memory: 4 GB RAM (Readyboost enabled with 8GB USB Drive)
Storage: 2xHD (500 GB and 1 TB) where each drive has 32 MB cache
Graphics: MSi (ATI Radeon) R4350 512 MB DDR@
OS: Win 7 Ultimate 64-bit SP1

My initial thought was that the dropout was RAM related, but file size for 720p rendering is about 2.4Gb/hour. It would seem that RAM issues should manifest between 90 and 100 minutes rendered at RAM saturation, if at all.

I don't have a convenient place to post screen grabs. Perhaps email to you?

Thanks in advance.
