VMS HD Platinum 11 & Update 247

Roberto65 wrote on 8/16/2011, 11:02 PM
Hello,

for those who use VMS11 HD Platinum and experienced issues with Build247 (last update from Sony), I warmly recommend to contact Sony Technical support.
I am currently in touch with them and it seems they do not experience the same problem reported in this Forum about the Help menu (which I experienced too).

Here is part of Sony Tech Support answer:
"I am currently running the build 247 update of the software on my system right now, and I have not experienced any issues with the Help files or with application crashes"

The only way to fix the problem is to let them know that it is real by issuing a ticket to their Technical Support service.
Thanks for your help

It looks like if the 247 build is executed while VMS 11 is still installed, then there will be some issues (like the Help menu not working).
If VMS 11 is manually uninstalled first and then the 247 build is run, then the Help menu works properly.
I just tried this and I can confirm it.

Thanks Roberto65.....I did as you suggested (uninstalled and ran the 247 build) and now it runs very well. The help menu also works now. Thanks.

Do you uninstall with Windows Add/Remove Programs? Do you also have to uninstall DVD Architect Studio? After reinstalling, do you have to also reinstall the extras, like NewBlue FX, Sound Forge, Vocal Eraser? Do you have to reenter all the serial numbers again? Thanks for any guidance you successful reinstallers can provide!

Barbult.....all I did was uninstall with the Add/Remove Programs. It only uninstalls VMS and nothing else. When I reinstalled it I never had to re-enter the serials numbers. The way I had it set up was even the same as before. All of the NewBlue FX was still there and were not erased. It was easier than I thought it would be. I would suggest doing it.

I updated to 247. I did have to reenter my serial number and re-register the main Vegas application, but nothing else. Thanks for your advice.
