VMS to blu ray?

I'm trying to create my first blu ray, and having problems. I start with AVCHD files imported from my Sony cx150, I open the project to output type blu ray 1080i, and I render save as Main Concept Mpeg 2, template blu ray 1440x1080i-24p, 25mbps. It creates a .m2v file. But DVD architect does not recognize the file as a media file? I'm running VMS 9b platinum. What don't I understand?

I know it's an elementary question -- but how are you adding this file to DVD Architect?

Are you dragging it into the Workspace so that it appears as a button on a menu page?

If for some reason it is the file that's the problem, try selecting Make Movie rather than Render and then choose the option to Burn to a DVD or BluRay Disc. This will ensure you are creating the perfect video format for a DVD Architect BluRay project.

Which version of DVDA do you have? Versions before 5.0 don't author Blu-ray.

I have 4.5 so I guess I'm SOL.
To answer the other question, I right click on Menu and select insert->media.
Normally then I just browse to the file I want and it creates a button to play that file.

TOG called it. You can't use BluRay-ready video to create a DVD in DVD Architect Studio 4.5.

I have a question regarding this. I have VMS9 PPP, is it still possible to create a movie and burn to blu ray without DVDA? After all, VMS9 does have blu ray capability.

I tried "Make Movie" but for whatever reason, VMS doesn't see my BD Drive, only my DVD drive.

From the manual:

Click the 'Make Movie' button on the toolbar

Burn it to Blu-ray Disc
1. Select the "Burn it to a DVD, Blu-ray Disc, or CD" radio button and click "Next". The Burn a Disc page appears.
2. Select the "Blu-ray Disc" radio button and click "Next". The Burn Blu-ray Disc dialog appears.
3. Select a radio button to choose what you want to do:
* Render Image and burn: renders your current project as a Blu-ray compliant file and burns it to disc.
* Render Image only: renders your current project as a Blu-ray compliant file that you can burn at a later time.
* Burn existing Image file: burns an already-rendered file to a Blu-ray Disc.

That's it. Make sure you have all of your blu-ray drive drivers installed. Does the system outside of Vegas recognize your drive as blu-ray?
