I would recommend to check your system (do a clean windows install?). On my PC installation went without any problems.

I'm not about to do a clean system installation when 1 app won't behave. I have better things to do than reinstall and reconfigure everything. VMS9 runs, so why won't 10? Everything else works properly too.

(Edited work to won't)

I have had the same problem. Likewise all the other downloads for the upgrade to Studio 10 have installed and worked properly.

However to confuse things even more I have Norton on my computer and on the first download Norton detected something nasty, WS.Reputation.1, (Insight Network Threat??), and proceeded to delete the file for moviestudiope100.exe. I re-downloaded it but turned off Norton to make sure that it would not happen again. It appeared to install correctly and let me register the product. It started to load then crashed.

The same thing happended to me. The details on the "threat", is that Norton Insight didn't have enough info about the files (lots of users that reported downloading it and the file was new). It isn't a real threat, N360 just wants to error on the safe side.

I have Symantec Endpoint Protection. During install I turned it off. It's still off and VMS 10 won't run. VMS9 does. My trial of Magix Movie Edit Pro 16 installed without a hitch and runs just fine.

Oops, I meant 1920 x 1080 and 1280 x 1024. My old monitor was 1680 x 1050.
