I hadn't tried putting in an mov file into the timeline yet, but I do have the latest QT installed and they play nicely together. If no one else gets to it, I'll test and report back.
Add an mp3 audio file as well, that is what's hanging me up with v8 and 7.6.5. I don't have to add them often but when I do, I just convert them to .wav. (I don't do HD video yet.)
What I have:
Vista 32; C2D 2.66 GHz 4 GB RAM
VMSPP 9.0b (bld 92)
VMSP 10.0 (bld 179) trial (hope to change that to non trial soon)
Quicktime 7.66 (1671)
iTunes 9.1.1.12
Most of my editing is AVCHD, but I do have to use .mov files from a digital camera. I had downgraded my iTunes/Quicktime awhile back so that I could incorporate the .mov files (mjpeg, 640x480/30p). When, I thought that I was done with them, I updated iTunes and Quicktime. I had checked VMSPP 9 after I updated them and sure enough, I had the typical symptoms and could not use them (even with the .dll fix that Sony offered).
Fastforward to VMSP10. Downloaded and installed. Put an .mov file on the timeline, no issue! Seems like it has been rectified. But wait, I went back and put a .mov into VMS 9 now it works too!
I also checked some JVC Picsio (.mp4 in .mov container) that I had at 720/60p and at 1440x1080/30p and they worked in VMSP 9 and 10 too!
Maybe it is just my imagination but it appears that installing V10 trial over v9 fixes the Quicktime issue, Someone else want to verify?
I never had any issues with mp3s; checked them out in VMSP9 and VMS10 - no issue.
