VMS8P will not read any video files

I just upgraded to the latest VMS (VMS8P) and the program will not read any video file I try to put on the time line. The message it gives me is:

"The plug-in is needed to read the file 1.mp2 is not registered. You can click the Register button to register a plug-in that will read this file."

Keep in mind that I still have VMS6P installed and it reads all the files fine. Anyway, I followed the instructions to "register" the plug-in and this came up:

"An error occurred while opening one of more files. THe requested plug-in does not have the necessary features unlocked."

WTF!

Anyone have an idea what to do next??

Thanks in advance,

Mike
